By Force Staff, 05/08/18

The Fargo Force selected 21 players in phase 2 of the 2018 USHL Draft today, including 11 forwards and 10 defensemen. Forward Austin Wong from Cochrane, Alberta was Fargo’s first pick in the draft. Wong played in the AJHL this season with the Okotoks Oilers scoring 54 points on 25 goals and 29 assists in 55 games played. The power forward also racked up a league leading 235 penalty minutes.

For Phase 2, USHL teams selected players from multiple birth years (1998-2002) looking to fill their protected lists with players who will compete for roster spots for the 2018-19 season.  Phase 2 continued until all USHL teams had secured 45 players on their Initial Protected List.  That list includes affiliate players from the 2018-19 season, players selected in Phase 1, and players signed to a tender.

All players selected will be invited to the Fargo Force tryout camp June 3-6 in Fargo to compete for a spot on the Force roster for the 2018-19 season.
