Weatherby’s clutch goals earn him BCHLPOW

March 5, 2018

Wenatchee Wild forward Jasper Weatherby has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 4, the league announced Monday.

Weatherby put up four goals and two assists for six points in their two wins in their first-round series against the Merritt Centennials. In game one on Thursday, Weatherby got Wenatchee’s offence started with two first-period goals and added an assist in his team’s 4-0 win. He followed that up on Saturday with another two goals and one assist, including his second consecutive game-winning goal, and his team won again by a score of 6-4. The Brett Hull Trophy winner for the regular season’s leading scorer was named first star of the game in both contests.

Weatherby’s offensive exploits have gotten Wenatchee off to a 2-0 series and they will look to carry that momentum into game three on Tuesday night in Merritt. The Lummi Island, Wash. native is committed to play for the University of Dakota in the 2018-19 season.
