Prokop piles up points for BCHL POW nod

Vernon Vipers forward Josh Prokop has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 17, the league announced Monday.
Prokop totaled three goals and four assists in two games, helping the Vipers to a pair of wins on home ice. The hometown Vernon product had three assists in a 4-2 win over the Merritt Centennials where he was 2nd Star and bettered that the next night with a hat trick and a helper plus 1st Star in a 5-2 win over the Trail Smoke Eaters.
It’s the second hat trick this month for Prokop and he now leads the Vipers with 18 goals on the season. He accepted an NCAA offer from Ohio State earlier this season and will head to college for the 2019-20 season.
