Former Vernon Viper Connor Jones Suspended:

The American Hockey League has suspended former Vernon Vipers forward Connor Jones.

Jones is in his third season with the American Hockey League (AHL) Bridgeport Sound Tigers, signed a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract with the New York Islanders February 22, 2017 & again July 27th, 2017. Jones made his NHL debut, April 2nd 2017 with the New York Islanders after being called up from the American Hockey League (AHL) Bridgeport Sound Tigers April 1st 2017. Jones played once with the Islanders before being sent back down to the American Hockey League April 4th 2017.

After four years at Quinnipiac University Jones signed his first pro contract with the American Hockey League (AHL) Oklahoma City Barons April 3rd 2014. Jones has spent the past two seasons playing with three teams in three different leagues. (ECHL-Bakersfield Condors, AHL-Oklahoma City Barons & the AHL-Bridgeport Sound Tigers).

Jones played In 163 regular season games with the Vipers collecting (80-goals-118-assists-198-points) Jones is the Vipers all-time points leader (regular season & playoffs) with 228 & all-time goals leader (regular season & playoffs) with 95.

AHL announces suspension

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Connor Jones has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of a slew-footing incident in a game at Utica on Dec. 1.

Jones was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

He will miss Bridgeport’s games today (Dec. 3) vs. Providence, Saturday (Dec. 9) at Springfield at Dec. 10 vs. Rochester.
