The 7-1-0-1 Vernon Vipers make their first of three regular season visits to the South Okanagan Events Centre are coming off a 5-4 victory over the Surrey Eagles Sunday in Surrey. The 5-0-0-0 defending Interior Division Champion, League Champion and Royal Bank Cup semi-finalist Penticton Vees are coming off a 2-1 victory over the visiting West Kelowna Warriors Friday in their home opener. Tonight is the first of a home & home series vs the Vipers, with the Vees in Vernon tomorrow night. This is the first of six regular season meetings vs the Snakes after these two teams met last year in the Interior Division Finals with Penticton winning in seven games, to advance to the BCHL league finals. The Vees come into action this evening have won all five of their games, are the lone undefeated team in the league with a 5-0 record. Like the Vipers the Vees have seen most of their season away from home. Penticton has played eight of their first nine games (exhibition & regular season) on the road. Including the pre-season this is just the Vees third home game. Penticton sits 4th in the Division are four points up on Salmon Arm & Merrit but just a single point up on 4th place Wenatchee. The Vees are five points back of 1st place Vernon with four games in hand. Since the 2011-12 regular season the Vees have dominated the Vipers. Penticton has won thirty of the last fourty one regular season meetings vs Vernon going 30-10-0-1. The Vees have won fifteen of the last twenty regular season games vs the Vipers.
