Trail Smoke Eaters New Digs:
The BCHL Trail Smoke Eaters are proof that if you want to get better you need to invest or as the cliché goes – ‘to make money you need to spend money’. Over the past decade the Smokies have been a perennial basement dweller but of late they are starting to turn heads. Not only did they have a successful playoff run last season but their new owner Rich Murphy is investing in the team and the facilities. Not only does the team have a blue chip forward in 6’5″ Kale Howarth who was drafted by Columbus but they now might have one of the top-dressing rooms in the British Columbia Hockey League. It’s great to see a town with a rich hockey history like Trail get a boost and have a some success on and off the ice.
