Islanders Sign Vipers Alumni Jones To Two-Way NHL/AHL Deal:

The New York Islanders have signed former Vernon Vipers
forward Connor Jones on a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) deal.

Jones is in his third season with the American Hockey League (AHL) Bridgeport Sound Tigers, signed a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract with the New York Islanders February 22, 2017. Jones made his NHL debut, April 2nd 2017 with the New York Islanders after being called up from the American Hockey League (AHL) Bridgeport Sound Tigers April 1st 2017. Jones played once with the Islanders before being sent back down to the American Hockey League April 4th 2017.

After four years at Quinnipiac University Jones signed his first pro contract with the American Hockey League (AHL) Oklahoma City Barons April 3rd 2014. Jones has spent the past two seasons playing with three teams in three different leagues. (ECHL-Bakersfield Condors, AHL-Oklahoma City Barons & the AHL-Bridgeport Sound Tigers).

Jones played In 163 regular season games with the Vipers collecting (80-goals-118-assists-198-points) Jones is the Vipers all-time points leader (regular season & playoffs) with 228 & all-time goals leader (regular season & playoffs) with 95.

The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with forward Connor Jones on a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) deal.

Jones, 26, made his National Hockey League debut with the Islanders last season, appearing in four of the final five games of the season. He also played 58 games with the Islanders' American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, recording 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) and 89 penalty minutes.

A native of Trail, BC, Jones has collected 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists) in 155 career AHL games with the Sound Tigers and Oklahoma City Barons. He also scored 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 27 games with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL during his first professional season in 2014-15.

Jones spent four seasons at Quinnipiac University, recording 129 points (49 goals, 80 assists) and 151 penalty minutes in 153 games with the Bobcats. He served as an alternate captain during his junior and senior seasons.
