Tonight is the first of two regular season meetings between the Vernon Vipers & Victoria Grizzlies. The Grizzlies swept the Vipers in last year's regular season series 2-0

Let's take a look at the Vernon Vipers:

The 4-1-0-1 Vernon Vipers make their first and only regular season visit to the Q Centre are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Powell River Kings at the BCHL Showcase September 22md. The Snakes are winless in their last two games. Tonight is the first of three straight this weekend and the teams fifth game of a eight game road trip. The Vipers started the season playing nine of their first ten games away from home. The Snakes come into action tonight having just one regulation loss in their first ten games (exhibition & regular season). Vernon's last win in Victoria was a 4-1 victory October 4th 2015. The Vipers sit 2nd in the Interior Division, are tied in points with Trail who sit atop the Division. Vernon is two points up on Wenatchee and just a single point up on West Kelowna & Penticton.

Let's take a look at the Victoria Grizzlies:

The 4-2-0-0 defending Island Division Champion Victoria Grizzlies return home for their home opener after starting the season with their first six games on the road. Victoria will play ten of their first thirteen games away from home. The Grizzlies are coming off a 4-2 victory Sunday over the Coquitlam Express at the BCHL Showcase. Victoria went 2-0 last weekend at the Showcase with wins over Prince George & Coquitlam. Tonight's the first of two meetings vs Vernon after the Grizzlies won both games over the Snakes last year. These two teams wont meet again until December 2nd when the Grizz are in Vernon for the final meeting of the season. Tonight is the first of three  home games, in a three game home stand before the Grizzlies hit the road for a four game road trip. Victoria has eleven players back from last year's club sit 3rd in the Island Division are five points up on 4th place Alberni Valley but just a single point back of Nanaimo & Powell River who are tied in points for top spot in the Island Division.
