Americans Sign Former Vipers Forward Basara:

The East Coast Hockey League Allen Americans have signed former Vernon Viper forward Marcus Basara.

Basara finished his fourth and final year at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks last season, before signing his first professional contract with the Americans.

Basara played parts of the two seasons in Vernon (2010-2012) before being traded along with Connor Hartley & future considerations to the Alberta Junior Hockey League Okotoks Oilers on November, 28th 2011 for Ben Gamache.  Basara would finish his junior career with the West Kelowna Warriors. In 80 games with the Vipers Basara collected (18-goals-27-assists-45-points).

Allen Americans Re-Sign Zach Hall; Sign Marcus Basara

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans announced today the club has signed center Zach Hall and right winger Marcus Basara to contracts for the 2017-2018 season.

Zach Hall, a 5-foot-11 and 185 pound forward from Bellville, Ontario returns to Allen after playing in 33 games last year with the Americans netting 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points. Hall centered the Americans second line last season and brings great speed and good hands to the Allen lineup.

Basara spent the last four years at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he averaged just over 21 points a season. He is a former teammate of St Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko. The two were second and third overall on their team in scoring during the 2014-2015 WCHA season.
