The Vernon Vipers are excited to announce the team will be holding it’s first ‘Skills Competition’ this Friday, March 10th at Kal Tire Place. The competition will be comprised of five events. Viper players along side Vernon Minor Hockey players will compete in Puck Control Relay, Accuracy Shooting, Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot and the Shoot-Out.
The event will be hosted by Vipers Assistant Coach Kevin Pedersen. Doors will open at 5:30 and the first event will kick-off at 6pm. Admission is by donation and there will also be draws and other prizes to be won.
I think this is a great idea! I have noticed several if not most NHL teams do something like this during the season for their fans. With no Vipers hockey for three weeks, it gives the fans something to watch. I'm curious to see what Vipers will be participating and who goes in what event. Should be fun!
