After going out in four games to the Powell River Kings for a second straight season in the opening round of the BCHL playoffs, the Cowichan Capitals held their year end awards banquet on March 15th. Former Vernon Vipers forward Ayden MacDonald was named Most popular player.MacDonald played his 150th BCHL game with the Capitals this season, January 13th in a 6-3 loss to the Coquitlam Express. In 54 games with the Capitals this season MacDonald collected (24-goals-28-assists-52-points).
MacDonald finished his second and final season with the Cowichan Capitals, started the 2014-15 season with the Vipers played in just five games before being traded to the Victoria Grizzlies October 8th 2014 along with Jake Emilio for Brandon Egli, Mitch Meek & future considerations. MacDonald was recruited by the Vipers went pointless in 5 games. After one season in Victoria the Grizzlies traded MacDonald to Cowichan May 19th 2015.

The Capitals held their annual end-of-year Awards Banquet at the Cowichan Golf Club on Monday night, celebrating the season that was and recognizing all those involved with the team.
In terms of player awards, 20-year-old goalie Lane Michasiw took home the most hardware, winning three notable awards in the MVP award, 3-Star award and Academic Achievement award.
Max Newton, a 19-year-old center who won the leading scorer award and faceoff award, 20-year-old defenseman Ben Verrall, who won the top defensive defenseman and was co-winner of the unsung hero award, and 19-year-old forward Rhett Kingston, who won most inspirational player and the coaches award, also were winners of multiple awards.
Other notions include captain Chris Harpur winning top gun defenseman, Ayden MacDonald winning most popular player, Ty Pochipinski co-winning the unsung hero, George Sennott winning the rookie of the year, among others (listed below).
