I watched tonight's game online. It looked like a fairly even game in the opening period before the Smoke Eaters capitalized with the man advantage in the 2nd period, scoring two powerplay goals to take a 3-0 lead into the 3rd. The Vipers had some good chances, couldn't capitalize on the powerplay, going 0-8 as specialty teams was the difference. Trail went 2-3 with the man advantage. Lots of emotion, intensity and chippyness coming from both teams in a playoff like game. Both goaltenders looked-played well. Nice to see a good crowd on hand as the Smokies have improved this season and put together a competitive team. With the win Trail moves into soul possession of 3rd place, two points up on West Kelowna and Merritt.
