The Vernon Vipers wrap up a two game home stand are coming off a 5-3 come from behind victory over the visiting Salmon Arm Silverbacks last Saturday in the Vipers home opener. The Vipers and Express will meet twice this season after Coquitlam won both games over Vernon last season. (4-3 in overtime and 5-1) The Vipers will play in Coquitlam November 26th in the second and final meeting of the season. The Vipers are looking to go 3-0 to start a regular season since starting 3-0 during the 2011-12 regular season. Tonight is the first of three straight home games where the Vipers will host a team from the Mainland Division. Seven of Vernon's next eight games are vs teams from either the Island or Mainland Division. After tonight the Vipers will hit the road for their longest road trip of the season, playing their next six games away from home. Vernon comes into tonight's action sitting atop the Interior Division two points up on Penticton, Trail & West Kelowna. Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 6-0-0-1 at home vs Coquitlam.

The Coquitlam Express make their first and only regular season visit to Kal Tire Place are coming off a 8-1 loss in Langley Saturday. This is just the eighth time the Express have played in Vernon since the 2003-04 regular season. The Express have just one win in Vernon since the 2003-04 regular season. Coquitlam's last win in Vernon was a  4-3 overtime victory September 18th 2015. This was the Express first win in Vernon since before the 2003-04 regular season. (Due to stats only going as far back as the 2003-04 regular season). The Express have nine players returning from last years team. The Express started the 2016-17 season on the road. Tonight is the third game of a current four game road trip, will finish the trip tomorrow in Salmon Arm. Coquitlam will play nine of their first ten games away from home & ten of their first twelve on the road to start the new BCHL season. The Express sit 3rd in the Mainland Division are tied in points with Chilliwack, Wenatchee & Langley.
