The Vernon Vipers make their second of four visits to the Cominco Arena are coming off a 5-4 double overtime loss last night to the visiting Penticton Vees. These two teams havent met since a 5-2 Viper win on October 30th meet for a fifth time with the Vipers leading the season series 3-1. Tonight is the Vipers final road game before the holidays have just one win in their last six games away from home. Vernon has lost three of their last five games are 3-5-0-2 in their last ten. The Vipers sit 4th in the Division are three points up on Trail, seven points back of West Kelowna and eleven points back of Salmon Arm. Vernon has just three games remaining before the Christmas break.

The Trail Smoke Eaters return home after a three game road trip wich saw the Smokies go 2-1. Trail is coming off a 4-2 loss in Alberni Valley Monday begin a two game home stand tonight. The Smoke Eaters have won three straight at home have played nine of their last eleven games on the road. The Smoke Eaters have four games remaining before the holidays, three of the four on home ice. The Smokies are 1-3 vs Vernon this season with their lone win coming in the Vipers home opener a 5-3 win on September 11th. These two teams will meet again in Trail on January 23rd. Trail has won four of their last five are 5-5-0-0 in their last ten games. The Smoke Eaters sit 5th in the Interior Division are eight points up on last place Merritt, three points back of Vernon for the final playoff spot and ten points back of West Kelowna.
