Vipers Make Roster Moves
Thursday, November 5, 2015 - Submitted by Viper Staff
Just ahead of a weekend road trip the Vipers have completed a pair of roster moves.
Vernon has signed BCHL veteran Defenceman Latrell Charleson. The 20 year old from Surrey will bring size and experience to the back end having played over 100 games in the BCHL measuring in at 6’4 and 230 pounds.
The big man also has some offensive punch as he scored 11 goals in 40 games last season as a member of the Surrey Eagles. He will join the team on road in time for tomorrow’s game in Port Alberni.
With the addition of Charleson the Vipers needed to make room on the roster and have released 98 born forward Zack Andrusiak.
The Vipers would like to welcome Latrell to the club and wish Zack the best of luck in the future.

The Vipers have added some size, experience and veteran presence the past few days with the additions of Charleson & Ben Butcher. I dont know much on Charleson but I like his size, adding another 20 yr old and getting some veteran experience on the blueline that is needed. The Vipers one of the smaller teams in the league need some size-experience on the backend, the defence hasnt been very good this season. If it wasnt for Andrew Shortridge, where would the Vipers be?
ReplyDeleteI didnt really see much in Andrusiak, didnt really stand out.
With the Vipers struggling latley, you knew some changes were going to happen. I think the Vipers needed to address this during or before Training Camp. I dont know why they went with such a small team with a young group. This isnt the NHL or WHL where your drafting kids. Every year is a new year, with a handfull of players returning, so why not put the best possible team on the ice every year. I think the Vipers should have brought in some size and a few more veteran players before Training Camp.
