Vipers Add Player
Friday, November 20, 2015 - Submitted by Viper Staff
The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce they have added 20 year old forward Charley Michalowski to the roster.
His rights were acquired from Cedar Rapids of the USHL in
exchange for future considerations. The product of West Roxbury Massachusetts had 2 goals and an assist in 8 games this season.
Michalowski was a 4th round pick of the Roughriders in the USHL draft and has secured a scholarship to Dartmouth for next season.
His debut date remains in question as the Vipers await Insurance approval from BC Hockey.
With addition of Michalowski Mark Ferner was forced to make a very tough decision by releasing 20 year old forward Mike Roberts.
The Vipers had opportunities to move Roberts outside of BC but allowed Mike to make the decision on his future and granted him his release.
Vernon wishes Mike the best of luck in the future and are pleased to welcome Charley to the club.

The Vipers will open up a two game weekend tonight in West Kelowna before entertaining the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Sunday at 2pm.
I believe that Michalowski is only 19. At least according to Elite Prospects.
ReplyDeleteThis looks to be like a good trade for the Vipers so far.... Michalowski has played well since the trade. I dont think hes played up to his potential yet but looks to have the skill, talent and wheels to add some skill to the Vipers roster. I was actually surprised Roberts made the Vipers roster after Training camp. For a 20 yr old forward who was playing with his fifth team didnt do much or show much to play thos season, especially as a twenty year old. You cant have one of your 20 yr olds playing on the 4th line. I think Roberts had just three or four points, should have been cut during Training camp.
