Silverbacks Trade Viper Alumni Mick To Langley:

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have traded former Vernon Vipers forward Logan Mick to the Langley Rivermen.

Mick was in his second season with the Silverbacks, missed most of last season with a lower body injury.  In 25 games last year Mick collected (5-goals-5-assists-10-points). Mick has yet to play a game with Salmon Arm this year.  

Mick played two years in Vernon (2012-2014) before being traded to the Merritt Centennials on May 29th 2014 as part of the future considerations from a trade in January. On January 3rd 2014 the Vipers sent defenceman Jason Bird & future considerations (Logan Mick) to Merritt for defenceman Dylan Chanter. In May the United States Hockey League (USHL) expansion Bloomington Thunder selected Mick 400th overall in Round 25 of Phase two of the USHL draft. On June 20th the Merritt Centennials traded Mick to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for Luke Bertolucci & future considerations.

Backs & Rivermen Deal Again...

Silverbacks GM Troy Mick announced today that they have acquired forward Chase Zieky (Providence) (96) from the Langley Rivermen for Backs forward Logan Mick (Quinnipiac)(96).

Township of Langley, BC (Wednesday, October 7, 2015) – The Langley Rivermen have completed a trade with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to acquire forward Logan Mick (1996 born) in exchange for forward Chase Zieky (1996 born).

Mick, a native of Vernon, BC is entering his fourth British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season, but did not suit up with Salmon Arm this year. In 2014-15 with the Silverbacks, he recorded 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) and 33 penalty minutes. In a career total of 127 BCHL games, the 5 foot 11, 175 pound forward has registered 33 points (16 goals, 17 assists) and 96 penalty minutes. Mick is committed to Quinnipiac University for 2016-17

“Logan is an experienced player that brings a bit of everything to our line-up. He is a two-way forward that shoots the puck very well and plays with intensity every shift,” said Rivermen Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Kurt Astle.

Zieky appeared in six games with the Rivermen this season and recorded one assist. The Rivermen would like to thank Chase for his contributions to the Rivermen and welcome Logan to the franchise.
