Selkirk College forward Dallas Calvin has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending October 4th.

A high profile recruit from the BCHL's Trail Smoke Eaters, Calvin made an immediate impact in his BCIHL regular season against Trinity Western on the weekend.

With his team trailing 2-0 late in the first period of their home opener, Calvin took over the game with a hat trick in less than 20 minutes of action en route to a 6-3 Saints win. All three goals were set up by linemate Ryan Edwards.

Selkirk lost the rematch on Saturday night but not without another offensive display from the 21-year old, who assisted on Ryon Sookro's second period power-play marker before scoring a man-advantage goal of his own early in the third.

Calvin closed out with weekend with four goals and five points, good for the early season lead in both categories.

Runners up for this week's award include Trinity Western University forward PJ Buys, Eastern Washington University forward Beau Walker and University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear.
