Eagles Sign Former Vernon Viper MacMurchy:

The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) Adler Mannheim Eagles havesigned former Vernon Vipers forward Ryan MacMurchy.

The Adler Mannheim Eagles are an ice hockey team that play in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest ice hockey league in Germany. The Eagles are based in Mannheim, a city in the north of Baden-Württemberg.

MacMurchy played last season in Germany with the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) ERC Ingolstadt Panthers. In 42  games MacMurchy collected (21-goals-31-assists-52-points).  MacMurchy has played the last four years in Europe before playing five years in the ECHL & AHL with six different teams (Peoria, Stockton, Springfield, Victoria & Abbotsford). MacMurchy played one season in Vernon (2000-2001) collecting (4-goals-16-assists-20-points) in 55 regular season games with the Vipers. MacMurchy was selected by the St. Louis Blues in round 9 #284 overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Forward Ryan MacMurchy (Vernon, 2000-01) signed a two year contract with Adler Mannheim of the German Elite League. The 32-year-old spent 2014-15 with ERC Ingolstadt in the same league, posting 52 points (21 goals, 31 assists) in 42 games. Next season is the Regina, SK native's fifth straight playing in Europe. McMurchy was a 9th round selection, 284th overall, of the St. Louis Blues in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
