Former Viper Sanford Named To WHL All-Star Team:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Cole Sanford has been named to the Western Hockey League's All-Star Team.  Sanford is in his third season with the WHL Medicine Hat Tigers.  Sanford was a affiliated player "AP" with the 2011-12 Vipers went pointless in eight games. The Vernon product was fourth in WHL scoring this year played in 72 regular season games with the Tigers collecting (50-goals-45-assists-95-points).

Medicine Hat, AB -- The Medicine Hat Tigers now have another streak which continues, for the past 5 seasons the Tigers have had one of their own selected to as a WHL All-Star. The last 2 seasons Curtis Valk has taken the honors selected as 1st and 2nd team All-Star respectively. This season both Trevor Cox and Cole Sanford were selected in the All-Star teams.

Cox was selected as a 1st team All-Star after putting up an outstanding 109 points in 69 games including a WHL leading 80 assists. Cox entered his 4th season as a Tiger and has been instrumental in leading the Tigers offensively. Cox also once had a 18 point lead in WHL scoring after the Christmas break, before slowing down at just a point per game pace. Cox also had his first career hat trick this season in a game versus the Kootenay Ice.

Sanford was selected as a 2nd team all-star as the speedy forward was one of two WHL skaters to break the 50 goal plateau, netting 50 on the season in 72 games, with only 12 coming via the power play. Sanford recorded 95 points on the season as well and was 2nd in the league with 6 shorthanded goals.
