The defending Interior Division Champion Vernon Vipers are coming off a 5-3 win over the visiting Merritt Centennials Saturday.  Tonight is the first of seven regular season meetings between the Trail Smoke Eaters & Vernon Vipers as these two teams will face each other Sunday afternoon in Trail.  The 4th place Vipers have won six of their last eight games are a single point up on Trail-Salmon Arm and only one point back of Merritt and two points back of 2nd place West Kelowna.  Vernon will play four games in the next five days.  The Vipers went 6-2-0-0 vs Trail last season.   

Thomas Aldworth (8-3-11) leads the team in goals with eight while Aldworth & Anthony Latina (6-5-11) share the team lead the in points with eleven

-Riley Brandt played in 36 games with the Smokies the past two seasons (4-goals-7-assists-11-points) before joining the Vipers this season.

Lets take a look at the Trail Smoke Eaters:

The Trail Smoke Eaters make their first of four regular season visits to Kal Tire Place this evening are coming off a 6-2 loss in Penticton Saturday night.  Tonight is the second and final game of a two game road trip before the Smoke Eaters begin a five game home stand.  Trail sits 5th in the Interior Division standings are tied in points with Salmon Arm are a single point back of Vernon and only two points back of 3rd place Merritt.  The Smokies have just one win in their last four games have won just three of their seven games on the road this season.  The Smoke Eaters have only five returning players from last year's team that missed the BCHL Playoffs are only two wins away from last year's total wins of ten.  Trail went 0-4 in Vernon last year have won just 16 regular season games vs Vernon since the 2002-03 season.  The Smoke Eaters have just five wins in Vernon since the 2003-04 regular season in 36 games.  Trails last win in Vernon was a 5-4 win on January 9th 2013.
