Lets take a look at the Vernon Vipers:

The defending Interior Division Conference Champion Vernon Vipers are making their first of three visits to the Nicola Valley Arena this season.  The Vipers are coming off a 7-4 loss Sunday afternoon to the visiting Langley Rivermen.  After winning two of their first three games Vernon has lost back to back games, were outscored 11-4 in those two losses.  The 5th place Vipers are just a single point up on last place Trail but are only one point back of Merritt and three back of 1st place West Kelowna.  The Vipers will play four of their first six games away from home will begin a four game home stand starting Saturday vs Cowichan.  The Vipers recently acquired defenceman Mark O'Shaughnessy and forward Mitch Friesen earlier this week.  Vernon has gone winless in their last three games in Merrit has just two wins in their last ten games at the Nicola Valley Arena.

Mackenzie Bauer (3-1-4) leads the Vipers in goals with three while Bauer & Anthony Latina (2-2-4) are tied for the team lead in points with four each

Lets take a look at the Merritt Centennials:

The Merritt Centennials are coming off a 5-0 victory over the visiting Penticton Vees Saturday sit in 2nd place tied with Penticton & Salmon Arm are only a single point up on 5th place Vernon and two points back of Division leading West Kelowna. Tonight is the second of a two game home stand for the Centennials before they hit the road for a three game road trip.  The Cents play in West Kelowna tomorrow night.  Merritt comes into tonight riding a two game winning streak has won three of their first four games this season.  The Cents have given up just seven goals this young season are tied with Chilliwack for the least amount of goals against.  The Vipers & Centennials will meet again in three weeks in Vernon.

John Schiavo (4-1-5) leads the Centennials in goals with four while Schiavo & Shane Poulsen (1-4-5) are tied for the team lead in points with five each

-Centennials Head Coach-GM Luke Pierce played his final year of Junior hockey with the Vipers (2003-04)
