Head to Vernon for the RBC Cup

Dauphin, MB - In front of a sold out Credit Union Place the Dauphin Kings and the Yorkton Terriers put on an absolute show on Saturday night.

Both teams battled nerves in the opening minutes as the crowd was buzzing but settled in and provided some of the best entertainment of the 2014 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup.

Brett Boehm would open the scoring on a great back door feed from Devon McMullen. The goal was Boehm’s goal was his 6th of the tournament and moved him back into the WCC scoring lead.

Ten minutes later Dylan Butler snuck into the slot and buried his 1st of the tournament to tie things at one.

The Terriers would finish off the period on a high note as Brett Boehm was sent in behind the defense on a beautiful pass from Tyler Giebel and slipped home his 2nd of the game to give the Terriers the 2-1 lead.

The second period would see both teams exchange chances but the Dauphin Kings would score the lone goal. Tanner Butler redirected home his 4th of the WCC just moments after Josh Ellis stepped out of the box to tie things a two heading to the third.

  1. Interesting that each of their first 3 visits to the Nationals, the Vernon organization wins the Cup, and the last trip the Express won the Cup.

    Talk about Omens.
