Sharks Send Former Vipers Defenceman Bigos Back To ECHL:

The American Hockey League (AHL) Worcester Sharks have
returned former Vernon Vipers defenceman Kyle Bigos to the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Ontario Reign.  Bigos was called up to the Sharks on March 14th 2014 played in 5 games collecting one assist. 

Bigos finished his fourth year at Merrimack College last season before signing with the San Jose Sharks farm club the Worcester Sharks on July, 16th 2013. Bigos attended the San Jose Sharks Training Camp this season but was released going back to the American Hockey League where he was then assigned to the East Coast Hockey League San Francisco Bulls on October, 1st 2013. In 40 games with the Bulls Bigos collected (2-goals-4-assists-6-points) before the team ceased operations in late January.

Bigos become an unrestricted free agent after the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) San Francisco Bulls ceased operations on January 27th 2014. The Bulls folded that day while all players became unrestricted free agents, effective immediately. Bigos signed with the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Ontario Reign on January 29th 2014.

Bigos finished his fourth year at Merrimack College last season. In 30 regular season games Bigos collected (4-7-11). Bigos played two seasons in Vernon (2007-2009) collecting (10-40-50) in 166 regular season games with the Vipers. Bigos an assistant captain in his second and final season with the Vipers was drafted 99th overall by the NHL Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round of the 2009 NHL Draft. Bigos attended the Oilers Developement Camp two out of the last three years. The Edmonton Oilers traded Bigos to San Jose for Lee Moffie on July 7th 2013.

Bigos is Back in Ontario

AHL returners continue to settle Reign roster

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced the return of defenseman Kyle Bigos from his recall to the AHL’s Worcester Sharks.

Bigos, 24, returns to the Reign from his first-ever AHL call-up.  A 2009 Edmonton Oilers draft pick, Bigos appeared in five games for the Sharks earning one assist and five penalty minutes.  With Ontario, the Upland, Calif. native played in 11 games earning two assists and 29 penalty minutes.

Bigos is expected to be back at the Reign blue line for the team’s Wednesday, Mar. 26 home game against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
