News Release: Senators re-assign goaltender Andrew Hammond to Binghamton (AHL)
Friday, 28.02.2014
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has re-assigned goaltender Andrew Hammond to its American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
A native of Surrey, B.C., Hammond made his NHL debut in relief of Robin Lehner stopping each of the 11 shots he faced in Ottawa’s 6-1 loss to Detroit on Thursday evening. He was recalled to the NHL for the first time in his career following the B-Sens’ 4-2 setback in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.
Hammond, 26, is currently tied for 10th among American Hockey League goaltenders with 17 wins this season and has a record of 17-12-3, in addition to a 3.02 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage through 33 appearances as a rookie with the B-Sens this season.
Ottawa returns to action when the club visits the Vancouver Canucks in the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic on Sunday at 4 p.m. EST.
The B-Sens visit St. John’s in their next contest this evening at 6 p.m. EST.
