Terriers Sign Former Viper Forward Hunt:

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Yorkton Terriers have signed former Vernon Vipers forward Riley Hunt.  

Hunt started his first full season with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (2013-14) before being sent down to the KIJHL on December 2nd 2013 where he played with the Summerland Steam and was an "AP" with the SilverBacks.   In 18 games with Salmon Arm this season Hunt picked up just two assists.  In 12 games with the Steam Hunt collected (5-goals-8-assists-13-points).  Hunt was recruited by the Vipers and played his first full season in Vernon (2010-11) before being traded to Salmon Arm during his second season with the Vipers. Hunt was traded to the Silverbacks on September 25th 2012 for future considerations. In 53 games with the Vipers Hunt collected (1-goal-5-assists-6-points).

The Yorkton Terriers have signed 95 forward Riley Hunt previously playing with the Summerland Steam in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Riley arrived in Yorkton this morning and participated in the Terriers practice. He is originally from Revelstoke, British Columbia. Riley is 5'7 tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has committed to Harvard University for the 2015-16 season.

Prior to playing for Summerland this season, Riley played as a 16 year old for the Vernon Vipers in the BCHL playing in 49 games and had 1 goal and 5 assists to go with 26 penalty minutes. Last season he was limited to 4 games for Vernon due injuries and was traded to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. This season, Riley started the year with Salmon Arm playing in 18 games collecting two assists before being released to Summerland. With Summerland he scored 5 goals and added 8 assists in 12 games.

The Yorkton Terriers are excited with the addition of Riley Hunt and would like to welcome him and his family to the Terriers organization. Riley will be in the lineup for Yorkton on Saturday when they visit the Battlefords North Stars.
