Sundogs Call Up Former Viper Defenceman Florentino:

The Central Hockey League (CHL) Arizona Sundogs have called
up former Vernon Vipers defenceman Rob Florentino.

Florentino was playing with the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Huntsville Havoc before being called up to Arizona.  In 14 games this season with Huntsville Florentino has (5-goals-9-assists-14-points).  Florentino signed with the Havoc this season also recently signed with the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Reading Royals in December.  

Florentino spent three years at the University of Massachusetts before leaving school and signing with the ECHL Las Vegas Wranglers on March 6th 2013 but was released on March 25th 2013. Florentino went pointless in eleven games with Las Vegas.

Florentino attended the Vernon Vipers 2009 Training Camp playing in a few exhibition games before being released. The Vipers with already the league limit six twenty year olds at that time were forced to release Florentino who was twenty. Florentino later signed with the Victoria Grizzlies where he started the 2009-2010 regular season.

FLORENTINO CALLED UP

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that rookie defenseman Rob Florentino has been called up to Arizona of the CHL.

Florentino was off to a tremendous start from the blueline scoring five goals and recording 10 assists in 14 games. He was a +8.

Veteran Havoc forward Dominic Osman will move to the blueline to replace Florentino.

The Havoc will travel to Peoria this weekend to take on the Rivermen in back-to-back nights on the 6th and 7th. They will return to Breland Homes Ice on Thursday, December 12th at 7:30 against the Mississippi RiverKings.
