Former Vipers Defenceman Koopman Announces Retirement:

Hockey Future's has reported that former Vernon Vipers defenceman Kevin Koopman has announced his retirement.  No official press release other then the Hockey Future's website report.

Koopman played parts of three seasons in Vernon (2005-2007) before being traded to Merritt on October 6th 2007 for Patrick Rogan.  In 62 regular season games with the Vipers Koopman collected (2-goals-7-assists-9-points).  Koopman played three seasons at Brown University before retiring from hockey to pursue a career as a doctor.  Koopman was selected 181st overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 6th round of the 2006 NHL draft.
