Lets take a look at the Vernon Vipers:

The Vernon Vipers are coming off a 4-0 victory over the visiting Merritt Centennials Friday night will wrap up this three game home stand before hitting the road for a three game road trip next weekend (Victoria, Cowichan Valley & Coquitlam).  The Vipers slipped into 2nd place after the Vees 9-4 win over Chilliwack last night.  The Vipers are two points up on 3rd place Salmon Arm and only a point back of first place Penticton.  Vernon is undefeated in their last three games has points in ten of their last eleven games.  The Vipers are 6-1-2-1 in their last ten games.  Vernon has outscored Trail 10-4 in both games this season.  

Mason Blacklock (15-9-24) leads the Vipers in goals with fifteen while Michael McNicholas (12-22-34) leads the Vipers in points with thirty four

Lets take a look at the Trail Smoke Eaters:

The Trail Smoke Eaters are coming off a 3-1 loss in Salmon Arm last night make their second visit of the season to Vernon this afternoon.  Trail has lost three straight after winning back to back games, has just three wins away from home this season.  The Smoke Eaters have two wins in their last five games and are 3-6-1-0 in their last ten games.  This is the second meeting between these two teams within the last week as the Vipers won 4-1 in Trail last weekend.  The Smokies are the lowest scoring team in the league with 68 goals and also have trouble keeping the puck out of the net, giving up 117 goals this season.
