Wolverines Trade Former Vipers Defenceman Saunders Back To BCHL:

The AJHL Whitecourt Wolverines have traded former Vernon Vipers defenceman John Saunders to the Coquitlam Express. Saunders who was entering his second season in Merritt this season was traded on September, 12th to the Wolverines for future considerations.  Saunders played with the KIJHL North Okanagan Knights (2011-12) & five games as an "AP" with the Vernon Vipers. Saunders attended the 2010 Sun Valley Showcase in Vernon and the Vipers 2011 & 2012 Training camps. Saunders played in three pre-season games with the Vipers last year before being released and signing with the Centennials.

The Coquitlam Express have acquired defenceman John Saunders (94) from the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) in exchange for future considerations.

Saunders a Calgary native started the season with the Merritt Centennials playing a pair of games. Then was traded to Whitecourt. He has 39 career BCHL games primarily with the Centennials scoring 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points.

He gives the Express some size on the blueline at 6'2 and weighs in at 205 lbs.
