Canucks Sign Former Vernon Viper Forward Santorelli:

The Vancouver Canucks have signed former Vernon Vipers forward Mike Santorelli Saturday. Santorelli spent last season with Tingsryds AIF (Sweeden) during the NHL lockout.  Once the NHL season started Santorelli played with the American Hockey League's (AHL) San Antonio Rampage & Florida Panthers before being claimed off waivers by the Winnipeg Jets on April 3rd 2013. In 7 games last year with San Antonio Santorelli collected (2-3-5). In 24 games last season with Florida Santorelli picked up (2-1-3).  In just 10 games with the Jets Santorelli collected (0-1-1).  Santorelli was drafted by the Nashville Predators in Round 6 178th overall at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft before being traded to the Florida Panthers on August, 5th 2010. Santorelli played one season in Vernon (2003-2004). In 60 regular season games with the Vipers Santorelli collected (43-53-96).

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed centre Mike Santorelli.

Santorelli, 27, split the 2012.13 season with the Winnipeg Jets, Florida Panthers, San Antonio Rampage and Tingsryds AIF. The centreman posted one assist in 10 games with the Jets and three points (2-1-3) in 24 games with the Panthers.

In 208 career NHL games with the Nashville Predators, Panthers and Jets, the Vancouver, BC, native has collected 59 points (33-26-59) and 50 penalty minutes.

The 6’0”, 190 lbs. centre was originally selected by Nashville 178th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
