Former Vernon Viper Skirving Commits To RIT:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Todd Skirving has committed to Rochester Institute Of Technology (RIT) for the 2013-14 season.  Skirving who was recruited by the Vipers played just half a season in Vernon (2010-11) before being traded at the BCHL trade deadline,  Skirving along with future considerations were traded to Prince George for Ryan Renz.  In 34 regular season games with the Vipers Skirving collected (4-5-9).  Skirving is in his second season with the USHL Sioux Falls Stampede.  In 21 games this season with the Stampede Skirving has (13-8-21).  Skirving was the USHL's Player of the week back on November, 5th 2012.

Skirving commits to RIT

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that forward Todd Skirving has committed to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for the 2013-14 season. He becomes the 11th Stampede player to commit to a Division I program this season.

Skirving is one of the hottest players in the USHL, earning back-to-back USHL Forward of the Week honors.

The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has recorded eight goals in his last four games and leads the team in goals scored with nine. He is also a +3 during that stretch. He is currently second on the team in scoring with 13 points (9g, 4a) in 12 games. Skirving is in his second season with the club after posting 17 goals last year.

RIT is located in Rochester, N.Y. and are members of the Atlantic Hockey Association. They have an enrollment of just over 17,000 students.

The Tigers are under the guidance of head coach Wayne Wilson who helped transition the Tigers from a Division III    program to Division I and led them to their first ever trip to the NCAA Frozen Four during the 2009-10 season. Last year, they finished 20-13-6 an appeared in their third straight Atlantic Hockey Association championship game. They have recorded at least 19 wins six straight seasons.
