Former Viper Strong Returns To Wings After Stint In AHL:

Former Vernon Vipers forward, Dean Strong has returned to the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings after returning from loan by the AHL’s Chicago Wolves. Strong played one year in Vernon (2004-05) collecting (35-56-91) with the Vipers during the regular season before playing the next four years at the University of Vermont. Strong played last season with Crimmitschau (Germany) and Kalamazoo (ECHL).

Forward Dean Strong will be in the K-Wings Lineup Tonight against Chicago

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, two-time defending North Division Champions, reigning Eastern Conference Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils and American Hockey League’s Albany Devils, announce forward Dean Strong has been returned from loan by the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.


In five games with the Wolves, Strong had three assists and had a plus/minus rating of plus-one. Strong is scheduled to be in the K-Wings lineup tonight, as the team heads to Hoffman Estates, Illinois to battle the Chicago Express.

In separate transactions, the K-Wings have waived forward David Solway and have placed defenseman Harry Young on the 3-Day Injured Reserve.

The K-Wings and Cyclones will face-off at Wings Stadium at 7:30 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the game for a $100 costume contest for both adults and children. There will also be trick-or-treating in the concourse and a post-game jersey auction.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the division rivals. Kalamazoo defeated Cincinnati 3-1 on October 15th at Wings Stadium.
