Morgan breaks finger, out two to four weeks

ATLANTA -- The Brewers just can't catch a break. Well, actually they can, and that's a problem.
Nyjer Morgan, who had just returned from the disabled list, suffered a broken middle finger on his left hand Thursday night and is expected to be lost for two to four weeks.
The center fielder was hurt laying down a successful sacrifice bunt in the eighth inning. But the ball caught his finger as well as his bat. X-rays revealed the break and Morgan was despondent as he stormed around the clubhouse after the Brewers' 2-1 loss to the Braves.
The injury is just the latest for the Brewers, who had hoped to finally be getting their team back together. Instead, they've got more injury woes to go along with a six-game losing streak.
"It's tough," manager Ron Roenicke said. "It's not going good."
Morgan was just activated on Tuesday after being sidelined with a bruised thigh suffered in a collision at the plate. He was playing in just his second game in the series finale against the Braves.
"We're all looking forward to getting the team back to full strength and Nyjer was a big part of that," Roenicke said. "He's a spark to our lineup and he does a great job defensively.
"He goes down with an injury and we just get him back. Then he goes down again."
With Morgan sidelined, the Brewers are back to having Carlos Gomez playing full time in center field. Gomez is 3-for-19 on the current road trip and his batting average is down to .234, with an on-base percentage of .275.
Morgan, acquired from the Nationals late in Spring Training, is batting .375 with 11 hits in 29 at-bats after going 1-for-3 with the sacrifice Thursday night. He has two doubles and two triples.
The Brewers recently got back Zack Greinke and Corey Hart. But four players remained on the disabled list, and Morgan will now make it five.
