The Vernon Viper hockey club is pleased to announce that 20 year old defenseman Malcolm Lyles has committed to play for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Riverhawks for 2011-2012.
The Riverhawks play in Hockey East which also includes Lyles former team, the Boston College Eagles. Patrick Cey, a former Viper, also plays for the Riverhawks and was recently named Hockey East player of the week.
Malcolm has steadily improved throughout the season and has become one of the premier defenseman in the league. His skating ability and strength are among the best in the BCHL. His style of play has made him a fan favourite.
The Vernon Vipers would like to congratulate Malcolm on this recent achievement and wish him continued success.
