Former Viper Switzer Commits To Bentley University:


Former Vernon Vipers forward, Brett Switzer has committed to attend Bentley University, beginning in the 2011-2012 season. Switzer who previously committed to attend Yale University, beginning in the 2010-2011 season is playing his final season with the AJHL's Spruce Grove Saints. Switzer started the 2008-09 season with the Vipers before being traded on September, 16th 2008 along with future considerations to the Spruce Grove Saints Hockey Club of the AJHL in exchange for the playing rights of Danny McSween (89), McSween along with future considerations was then traded to the Surrey Eagles for Bryce Kakoske. Switzer will join Vipers defenceman, Steve Weinstein next season who is also heading to Bentley University.

The Spruce Grove Saints are pleased to announce that Brett Switzer has committed to attend Bentley University, beginning in the 2011-2012 season. Switzer, a native of Calgary, has had a very impressive career with the Saints, compiling 70 goals and 70 assists for 140 points in 147 regular season games. The 20-year old, centre has spent the past three seasons with the Saints capturing the Enerflex Cup last season.

"Brett is a tremendous individual who is very dedicated to improving on a daily basis. The Bentley Falcons will be adding a player that will impact their program in a variety of ways," stated Saints Head Coach and General Manager Jason McKee

The Spruce Grove Saints would like to congratulate Brett and his family on this tremendous opportunity. The Saints look forward to Brett's continued contributions through the 2010-2011 playoffs.
