Catching Up With Johnny Olthuis

Posted: January 20, 2011

Former UAA goaltender Jon Olthuis, who eventually landed in the Southern Professional Hockey League to begin his pro career and -- according to the numbers -- played well there, has moved up a notch to the Central Hockey League.

The Dayton Gems last week signed Olthuis -- he's yet to play in a game for them.

Still, good to see him move up. For the Augusta RiverHawks, he went 11-8-1 with a 2.83 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and one shutout.
