Key’s and Notes to tonight’s game:

-Vernon is 0-3 vs. Salmon Arm this season

-The Vipers have been outscored 11-4 in three games vs. the Silverbacks this year

-The Vipers are now five points back of first place Trail but only a single point up on third place Penticton & just four points up on fifth place Westside

-Vernon has the second best goals against in the league, giving up just 59 goals. Powell River leads the league only giving up a league low 40 goals

-This is Vernons first game of a five game road trip. The Vipers play seventeen of the teams next twenty one on the road

-Goaltender Blake Voth is 5th in league goaltenders with a 2.29 GAA

-After giving up two soft goals and getting the hook in last nights 3-2 loss to Salmon Arm, I would suspect rookie Bryton Udy may get the nod in goal for the Vipers tonight

-Vernon needs to get off to a better start after giving up the games first goal last night, just twenty one seconds into the contest

-The Vipers need a much better effort and performance from everyone tonight, the team needs to compete, battle and win the races if they want to come away with two points tonight

-Goaltending will once again be key for both teams tonight

-Vernon needs to try and find a way to solve Salmon Arms penalty kill after going 0-8 on the man advantage last night

-The Vipers will still be without Dylan Walchuk (Playing for Team Canada West) & Patrick McGillis (Injured)

-The Vipers will have to be ready to play a full 60 minutes tonight as Salmon Arm is very strong at the Sunwave Centre with a 8-2 record

-This is the first of five straight away from home for the Vipers, this will be a key test for a young hockey club

-Paul De Jersey & Justin Elliot will be both making their Backs home debut tonight
-Salmon Arm is 5-1 on home ice in their last six home games

-Tonight is the first of four straight at home for the Backs

-The Silverbacks will need strong defensive play and a little more offence tonight
