Vipers Coaching Staff Has Some Tough Final Cuts To Make:

Out of the ten kids cut the other day I was surprised that Marley Keca & Zach McLellan were let go. I thought both looked pretty good at the blue and white games. I was also a little surprised that Austin Sture stuck around. The first thing I noticed is his size but other then his tall presence, he looked slow and had troubles moving the puck, as well as needed some work defensively in and around the net. Im sure if anyone can get this kid to be a better d-man its Mark Ferner, just look at what he did with Kyle Bigos a few years back and what kind of defenceman Bigos turned out to be. Maybe Mark Ferner & Jason Williamson see something in him I dont. Other then that, I wasnt surprised of the other eight players that were cut. Mark & Willie now have 5 kids left to cut before the season, it will be interesting to see who stays and goes. I didn’t really know what to expect at this years Vipers training camp, as to what kind of recruiting the Vipers did over the past year. But so far I have been very impressed in with what players I have seen at both blue and white games. Several of these kids who were cut if not all of them could easily play on any other Jr A team, Im sure us Viper fans will see a few of these kids join other teams around the league.
