Former Viper Segal & The Giants Gone In Six Games:

Former Vernon Vipers goaltender, Mark Segal & the Vancouver Giants saw their season come to an end in Game 6 of the Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Final last night, falling 5-2 to the Tri-City Americans. The Americans now advance to the WHL Final to face the Calgary Hitmen.
Segal who made the Vipers team last year was the backup to Andrew Hammond to start the 2008-09 season. Segal played in just one game with Vernon losing 3-1 to Prince George. In October the Vipers had aquired Graeme Gordon from the Merritt Centennials, and reassigned Segal to the Richmond Sockeyes of the Pacific International Junior Hockey League.

Segal was cut from Giants camp the last two summers and had been playing junior B in Delta before joining the BCHL's Nanaimo Clippers back in October. Segal then left the Clippers to join the Giants in mid November.

In 16 postseason games Segal went 10-6 with a 3.49 GAA
