ANTICIPATION BUILDS FOR RBC CUP

Saturday, February 06, 2010

Excitement and anticipation is starting to mount as Canada’s National Junior ‘A’ Hockey Championship -the RBC Cup- enters the countdown stage of less than 100 days to go. The 2010 version of the prestigious event is set to go May 1st to 9th in Dauphin. According to Doug Hedley, RBC CUP 2010 event coordinator, ticket sales are starting to pick up.

“With early-bird and regular ticket sales, sponsor tickets, Hockey Canada and visiting team ticket requirements factored in, we now have less than 900 seats left to sell” says Hedley.

“Ticket sales through Dauphin’s Countryfest box office have been steady, and with more and more requests coming from out of town we’re starting to gain confidence that the event will sell-out”, states Hedley. Adds Hedley “…the recent announcement of Charlie Major headlining the opening night cabaret/saloon has also helped push ticket sales.”

As the junior leagues roster deadline has now been reached teams are beginning the drive for the playoffs, and excitement is building for a run to the RBC Cup. This has been noticed at the ticket office as requests for ticket information is coming in from across Western Canada.

Tickets are available for $240 (plus fees and taxes) for regular seats and $270 (plus fees/taxes) for club seats. A VIP feature which includes benefits like “front of the line” service and VIP Lounge access is available for an additional $160 – and can be added to either a regular or club seat ticket package.

Dauphin’s Countryfest is the official ticket box-office, so in-person sales may be transacted at their office location on Second Ave SE in Dauphin. Complete ticket information is available by calling 1-888-459-2010.
