A pair of British Columbia Hockey League graduates have either been recognized heading into their respective NCAA hockey seasons by being named to the College Hockey News's Preseason First and Second Teams.

Former Vernon Vipers defenceman Chay Genoway has tabbed as one of the nation's top blueliners, lining up along St. Louis Blues' first round draft pick Ian Cole on CHN's First Team. Genoway, who topped the 30-point plateau with the Fighting Sioux as a junior, will captain the defending WCHA champions.

Meanwhile, former Burnaby Express defenceman Patrick Wiercioch was named to the College Hockey News' second team. Wiercioch, an Ottawa Senators draft pick, was a late cut of Canada's 2009 World Junior Championship squad and recently attended the summer evaluation camp for the 2010 event. The 19-year old posted 35 points in 36 games last season as a Freshman at Denver University.
