(Game Preview) Trail @ Vernon:

Trail (0-2-0-0) @ Vernon (3-0-0-0)

Last Game For Both Teams:

September 18th @ Trail: Vernon defeated Trail 7-1

Tonight is the second game of a home and home series between the Vernon Vipers and Trail Smoke Eaters. Last night the Vipers blew out the Smoke Eaters 7-1 in the Smokies home opener. Before the game it was announced that Trail had pulled off two trades, trading Kodi Sawka to the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the SJHL in exchange for future considerations & acquiring Marc-Antoine Chaput (90)(D) to the Surrey Eagles in exchange for future considerations. Vernon killed off three straight penalties in the 1st period before scoring 5 goals in the first 20 minutes. The Vipers dominated the play for most of the game, before taking their foot off the gas & coasting to the 7-1 victory. Jim Ingram’s Smoke Eaters now have dropped to 0-2 in this young season, it will be interesting tonight what Trail team shows up. The Smokies are going to have to try and watch all four of Vernons lines. The Vipers are loaded with depth and speed and can burn you with all four lines. Trail will have to try and get the powerplay going (0-5 last night) If the Smoke Eaters score on one of the three early powerplay’s last night, we have a different hockey game. The Smokies need better help on the backend after having troubles defensively. The Vipers cant come into tonight’s game thinking its going to a be another 7-1 win, as Jim Ingram will have his troops ready for the defending National Champs. The Vipers are going to have to work just as hard as they did last night in efforts for another victory tonight. If Vernon can get to Trail early the Vipers will be fine.
