He sounds like he's got some experience. I'm glad we got a scout to help the team get better players and maybe Cooke can concentrate more on coaching
ReplyDeleteHe definitely has lots of coaching experience. Let's see how good of a job he does at scouting because recruiting and scouting has been one of the major problems the Vipers have had since the Glens bought the team.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an excellent hire! Lamberti-Charles looks to have coached a lot over the years and hopefully can bring some high end talent to Vernon. Since the Glens purchased the Vipers in 2018 we have had several good players but not a ton of elite high end talent like some of the other teams were recruiting. Recruiting is a major part of junior hockey and I think recruiting/scouting has lacked the past number of years. Since going to the league finals in 2019 the Vipers have been average at best most seasons in and around the 500 mark and now missing the playoffs back to back seasons. Going into the 2026-27 season Matt Cooke will now be responsible for the team he puts on the ice for the start of the 2026-27 season. I like some of the signings so far and excited to see what next season will look like.
