Finally some news from the Viper Den. Anyone else notice this quote... ” says Sommer. “I look forward to joining Tom and Matt and the organization..." No mention of brother John at all.
Looks like the Vipers now have some very competent hockey people running the show. They have a very steep hill to climb but at least the bar has not been set very high in the past 5 years.
For the first time in the past 5 years I am looking forward to the season. Although we have not heard a lot on the recruiting side I think players will embrace the chance to play for these coaches. Go Vipers Go!!!
Hey diehard, That got me a little more excited for the upcoming season, with the addition of two new Assistant Coaches. Both coaches have coaching experience and one with some NHL experience.
I like the addition of both new Assistant Coaches. Both have coaching experience and it never hurts to bring in a guy that played in the NHL. I like the look of the Vipers coaching staff and the changes ownership has made this summer. Changes and a culture change was needed after one of the worst seasons in franchise history last year. Now some questions, have the Vipers signed anyone? Has anyone committed to the team for this season? Who's returning from last year? With four weeks until the preseason, how many players do the Vipers actually have? Matt Cooke and the new staff have a tough task ahead to try and find players this late in the year. For the first time in six years I'm actually excited and looking forward to a fresh start and a new season. Go Vipers Go!
Really hoping this coaching staff can run the show the way they want to run it. If the Glen ownership stick their heads in to much like they have in the past, the outcome will be the same and we will be looking for a new coach by January. Stay out of the dressing room ownership, or you’ll be looking for a new coaching staff and be scratching your heads wondering why attendance is dropping.
Things are starting to look up behind the bench! It will be a rebuilding year this year.
